
A new regulator with improved powers in the vein of those in Norway and Holland is essential for the long-term future of the UK’s oil and gas industry, a leading industry figure has warned.
Sir Ian Wood, launching his interim report into the best way of maximising the UK Continental Shelf, called for a stepchange in the way the industry is regulated.
Improving access to the infrastructure for smaller firms is also key, the former Wood Group chairman told Energy Voice, to ensure a better playing field for the industry.
