The UK Government’s penny-pinching is costing the oil and gas industry “vast potential for the future”, claims the Scottish First Minister.
Alex Salmond addressed the sector audience in Aberdeen at Oil & Gas UK’s first conference devoted to maximising economic recovery from the UKCS.
He told Energy Voice that Westminster’s cost-cutting measures directed at the industry represent a short term view which dramatically limits the country’s potential to reap the benefits of the resources still remaining in the North Sea.
