Centrica is currently looking for redeployment opportunities for a number of staff working in its North Sea operations.
The move comes after the firm announced it was carrying out a jobs consultation earlier this year.
The firm had said it would be looking to make changes to its staffing levels from both its Aberdeen and Morecambe Bay operations in August.
It’s understood the company is looking at whether some staff could be moved elsewhere in the company rather than losing their jobs.
The final number of job losses is expected to be established later this month.
Earlier this week, it was revealed Centrica plans to sell its Trinidad and Tobago assets to oil major Shell.
