Premier Oil has served a notice to Ocean Rig for breach of material obligations under the contract for the Eirik Raude drilling unit.
The Eirik Raude has been carrying out a six-well program in the Falklands which is scheduled to be completed this month.
Rockhopper Exploration, the oil and gas company with interests in the North Falkland Basin and the greater Mediterranean, confirmed that Premier has served a notice to Ocean Rig.
Ocean Rig said it is evaluating its options under the contract.
