North-east firms will be urged to get into Iran at a seminar in Aberdeen later this week.
Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) and legal firm Pinsent Masons are teaming up to bring business leaders up-to-date on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in the Middle East country.
Guests will hear from representatives of the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce, including former British Ambassador to Iran and Libya Sir Richard Dalton.
Sir Richard will outline the political background behind the delicate nature of regional and international politics, as well as projected growth and priorities for the Iranian government.
He will also examine the prospects in Iran for the UK’s oil and gas supply chain and why UK suppliers should be planning for business in the country following the partial lifting of trade sanctions.
Pinsent partner and Middle East expert George Booth will look at the legal environment for any one considering doing business in Iran, including a review of the sanctions rules and of the investment and tax landscape faced by UK businesses looking to do business in the country.
The Race to Capture the Iranian Market event will be held at AGCC’s Bridge of Don headquarters from 11.45am-2pm on Friday. For more details and to book spaces, visit the chamber’s website.
