Oil major BP is said to be handing bonuses to Norwegian oil workers despite recent plans to make more than 200 redundancies.
Last month, the company said it would be cutting up to 4,000 jobs globally as it looks to streamline costs.
According to reports in Norway, workers can expect to receive a bonus which amounts to up to 14% of their salary.
It is expected corporate management in London will determine the size of bonus payments before they are handed out.
A spokesman for BP in Norway said bonuses were to be handed out regardless of whether oil prices are high or low.
Last month, BP said it would reduce its headcount by 210 positions in Norway in the next two years.
The move comes after 166 job losses last year.
