Total has cancelled a contract with Ocean rig, just days after Premier Oil ended an agreement for the Eirik Raude operating in the Falklands.
The company said Total E&P Congo had terminated the long-term charter of the Ocean Rig Apollo, which is currently deployed in the region.
Ocean Rig said it will be entitled to a termination fee which varies from 50% to 95% of the operating daily that will be payable over the balance of the contract.
The rig will now demobilise from Congo in due course and will be available for alternative employment.
