Oil major BP plans to choose a development solution before the end of the year for its Snadd North and Snadd Outer Skarv field in the North Sea.
The company first established a project team two years ago to assess future development solutions for the two discoveries, which are estimated to contain 200million barrels of oil equivalent.
According to reports in Norway, an emerging subsea connection with cormorants is likely to be the main solution for development.
Chief information officer Jan Erik Geirmo said BP planned to select a concept this year, with the plan for development and operation next year, before starting production in 2020.
Earlier this month, a former BP rig engineer was found not guilty of negligence in regard to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.
