Amec Foster Wheeler has opened a new base to serve customers in the nuclear and power generation sectors.
Approximately 70 members of staff from the company’s Clean Energy Europe business, ranging from graduates to industry experts, have relocated to Brighouse Court in Gloucster.
It aims to help the engineering services firm to support EDF Energy’s existing fleet of nuclear power stations under the lifetime agreement signed last year.
The office also serves customers in nuclear new build, power generation, defuelling and decommissioning, and defence.
AFW’s Clive White, president of clean energy in Europe, said: “The South West is a key area for the nuclear industry, attracting companies and investment.
“Amec Foster Wheeler is committed to maintaining a strong presence here and for us to do that it is vital that we provide good, modern working conditions for our staff.
“This move brings us closer to our customers and will strengthen both our relationships and our ability to deliver solutions to the challenges they face.”
