Norway’s safety body the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has found a number of non-conformities on Transocean rig’s emergency preparedness systems.
The findings come after an audit was carried out on the Transocean Arctic in December.
The objective had been to assess whether Transocean’s systems and practice for following up working environment risk during activity in a cold climate met the regulatory requirements.
Improvement points were identified with regard to evacuation routes and securing of loose equipment, employee participation and safety delegates and roles and responsibilities.
Meanwhile, non-conformities were identified with follow up measures, at-risk groups, barriers and fire stations.
Transocean has been given a deadline on April 1 2016 to report on how the non-conformities and improvement points will be dealt with.
