Third-time OTC exhibitor Reactive Downhole Tools (RDT), of Aberdeen, has beefed up its management team by appointing someone to head up business development in North America.
The energy service firm invested about £3.4million in a 30,000sq ft facility in Houston, Texas in 2013,
Currently feeling the squeeze amid challenging times for the oil and gas industry globally, the company is focused on investing in its future and maintaining its 25-strong workforce after profits of £5.5million on revenue of £14million in its 2014/15 trading year.
RDT, which is led by chief executive Mike Allan, specialises in isolation tools for the oil and gas industry.
Established in Aberdeen in 2012, the company has bases in Aberdeen, Abu Dhabi, Norway, Brazil and the US, plus representative agreements worldwide.
Mr Allan said: “Opening our Houston base has been a real milestone for Reactive and the pinnacle of our international success thus far.
“Having this permanent and substantial presence in the US allows us to carry out the testing and manufacturing required to fully support our growing customer base.
“We are confident that exhibiting at this year’s OTC will give us the opportunity to build on our successes to date.”
The new North American business development role has gone to former Baker Hughes operations manager Stacey Avalos.
