Faroe Petroleum said it has received consent to drill an exploration well in the North Sea.
The company said it will be the first to be drilled in the production licence in the Brasse prospect.
It is located 16km south-east of Oseberg A and 93km west of Sotra in Hordaland.
The drilling is expected to begin in the second half of May at the earlier, with an estimated duration of up to 57 days.
