Production was stopped on a Det Norske FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading) vessel after a suspected gas leak.
The company said it was still “too early” to say anything about how the leak occurred but an internal investigation has begun to find out what happened.
It’s understood the leak was quickly stopped and there was no suspected leakages in connection with the incident.
Following the incident on Thursday, the FPSO Alvheim resumed production in the early hours of today.
Det Norske has been the operator of Alvheim with a 65% stake since its acquisition of the field from Marathon Oil two years ago.
