Allseas said it expects to perform offshore trials and begin the removal of a test platform in the North Sea using the decommissioning vessel the Pioneering Spirit.
The company has just completed commissioning of the topsides lift system and major part of the harbour test programme of the sing-lift installation in Rotterdam.
In a statement the company said all 12 installed topsides lifting beams on board the Pioneering Spirit had been tested to their respective lift capacities of nearly 3700 metric tons.
The last of the four tests, involving four beams lifting 14,700 tonnes were performed at the end of last month.
The Pioneering Spirit will now perform trials and tests in the Southern North Sea.
Following the completion of the test programme, the vessel is expected to carry out the removal of the 13,500 tonne Yme mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) offshore Norway for Repsol.
The vessel is expected to return back to Rotterdam where the four remaining topsides lifting beams will be installed for the Shell Brent Delta topsides removal, scheduled for next summer.
