There could be up to 10 rig contracts in platy on the Norwegian Continental Shelf over the next three years.
Oil companies are in the market looking for rigs on a number of projects in the North Sea.
Norwegian operator Statoil plans to drill six wells at Aasta Hansteen and had been set to use the West Hercules rig.
However that contract has since been terminated and Statoil confirmed they have a tender to a new rig.
Work on the wells is expected to start in early 2018 with the contract expected to be worth nearly a billion kroner.
Meanwhile Centrica is said to be looking for a new rig on Butch and Oda as it looks to drill three wells by a jack-up. Start-up is estimated in the third quarter of 2018.
At Zidane there are plan for four production well and a contract worth half a billion at current price.
Start-up is expected for the spring of 2018, according to reports in Norwegian media.
Repsol is on the look-out for a jack-up to carry out plugging on the Norwegian shelf.
ConocoPhillips is said to have a five-year contract for plugging in the Ekofisk area.
Start-up is expected in 2018.
Wintershall is looking for a jack-up rig in the North Sea for the first half of next year to work on two wells for the duration of 180 days.
Aker BP is also looking for a jack-up rig to drill for 18 months at Valhall Vestflanken starting in 2019.
Dea is also expected to have a rig job on one or two wells in Utgard.
