Petrobras’s oil and gas output slipped 1.42% in August following the sale of assets in South American neighbour Argentina, a news report said.
The Brazilian state-run firm sold its 67% stake in Petrobras Argentina to Pampa Energia in May.
The divestment formed part of Petrobras’s $15billion asset sale programme, which is aimed at bringing down the company’s $125billion debt pile.
Petrobras pumped out an average of 2.84million barrels of oil and equivalent natural gas last month, its lowest level in three months, Reuters reported.
The company managed 2.89million barrels a month earlier.
