A Norwegian oil and gas corrosion firm with operations in Aberdeen said today it expected to hire up to 13 new workers on the back of two recent contract wins.
Presserv has signed a deal with Cortec Corporation to supply one of the US firm’s storage tank corrosion protection products, Corrologic, throughout Europe.
Stavanger-headquartered Presserv has also agreed to distribute a sealant system made by Dutch business Seal for Life worldwide, having previously only supplied Norway and Scotland.
The company expects the two new contracts to double its revenues to £20million from 2017 to 2020.
A spokesman for Presserv said the new technical positions will be based in Aberdeen, though most of the work will be carried out in the field in Europe.
Presserv, which took over Aberdeen-based Corrosion Solutions in January, currently employs 13 people in the Granite City.
Presserv director Phil Low said he hoped to take advantage of the availability of large numbers of skilled workers who have lost their jobs during the oil and gas industry downturn.
Mr Low said: “There are a number of skilled workers out there looking for jobs, and we are delighted to be able to offer positions to technical operators and sales staff at a time when the job market in the north east of Scotland is in a state of flux.”
Commenting on the new deals, he said: “Corrologic has a very strong reputation in the USA and Middle East, and we are eager to bring this recognised brand to Europe.
“In addition to this, we are thrilled to be expanding our offering of Seal for Life services with Stopaq from Norway and Scotland to encompass the rest of the world.
