US oil producer ConocoPhillips has reported a smaller quarterly loss as it cuts production and operating expenses.
The company said its net loss fell to $1billion in the third quarter ending September 30th from $1.1billion a year previously.
Their results come on the same day as Statoil revealed it had widened its losses.
Menawhile, Amec Foster Wheeler said it would permanently reduce its spending by £100million after restructuring both staff and facilities.
Technip posted better than expected revenues and said it planned to make fresh North Sea investments.
