Archer has confirmed an extension of a North Sea drilling deal with Aker BP.
The well services contractor has been awarded a three-year extension of the platform drilling contract.
According to reports, the contract is for the Valhall field off Norway where production drilling is reportedly due to restart early next year after a two-year hiatus.
No value has been given for the extended deal.
The field was formerly part of BP’s Norwegian asset portfolio which has now been taken over by Aker BP following its merger with the former Det Norske.
