Inverness-based energy industry recruitment firm Orion Group has been asked to supply 40 workers for a renewables project in Scotland.
Orion, which also has offices in Aberdeen and Invergordon, said welders and platers were needed by a major infrastructure services and engineering group.
Gary Scott, Orion Group’s regional general manager, said: “We’ve been working with our client for several years and have built a solid reputation in delivering the best in class personnel to their key engineering projects in the oil and gas and shipbuilding industries.
“We’re aiming to help buck the current jobs trend caused by the many fluctuations in a number of Scottish industries in recent years with the recruitment of 40 new jobs.”
The contract, which will be managed by Orion’s Dunfermline office, represents a positive change in Scotland’s jobs market, Mr Scott said.
“We appreciate the industry has seen some challenging times of late however it’s promising to see a number of green shoots appearing,” he said. “We’re encouraged by developments in the renewables sector and look forward to contributing more to this expanding market.”
