Innogy said it sees no reason to scrap plans to enter the US onshore wind market.
The comments by its chief executive Peter Terium come as he said the firm is not worried over future support of renewables.
Concern had been raised amongst some renewables investors concerned Trump’s fossil friendly stance might impact on renewables.
Terium said:”We are not in waiting mode in the United States. We are relatively advanced. We do it because wind is a competitive technology in the United States.”
However, Terium did say while not concerned on a business level, he was “deeply anxious” on a personal level about Trump’s election.
He said it was “catastrophic” that the US had elected the newly-confirmed President, but said it was “a fact”.
Terium also added that he was concerned about the state of the British market, where he said large producers faced political pressure to cut prices and accept margin pressure.
