Oceaneering will use its new Ocean Evolution vessel to carry out flowline installation work in the US Gulf of Mexico for Shell.
The Houston-based oilfield services firm said it would take delivery of the ship later this year ahead of deployment to the Appomattox development.
The company expects to wrap up its work on the project in 2019.
Oceaneering chief executive Roderick Larson said: “We are extremely pleased to expand our scope of supply, in addition to previously securing the control umbilicals contract, on this Shell deepwater Gulf of Mexico development.
“This project demonstrates Oceaneering’s capabilities to leverage our comprehensive portfolio of offshore services and products to produce safe, reliable and cost effective solutions that meet all of a customer’s requirements.”
