A consortium made up of ExxonMobil, Hess and Statoil has reached an agreement with Suriname’s energy agency on a production sharing contract for block 59 in the country.
The energy agency, Staatsolie has also reached an agreement with Statoil for block 60.
The blocks were awarded as a result of the agency’s ‘Open Door Policy Offshore Suriname’ event, which will run again in September this year.
The parties are expected to sign the contracts in the first half of next month.
