Searcher Seismic has completed its 2D seismic survey in Papua New Guinea.
The surveyed area covers about 3,600 kilometres, including the Cape Vogel and Bougainville basins as well as the unexplored New Ireland basin.
Searcher Seismic’s global sales manager Rachel Masters said the survey follows a recent increase in activity in the Gulf of Papua.
She said: “Given the complex tectonic history of the basins the Solomon Sea 2D covers and industry’s continued interest in the region, Searcher is excited to uncover the potential of northern PNG.”
Fast track data will be made available by the end of this year, with the final data expected early next year.
