Offshore vessel provider Bibby Marine Service has won a contract with French supermajor Total.
The oil and gas giant’s Netherland’s exploration and production arm has chartered the Bibby WaveMaster1.
The contract is from April 2018 through to October 2018 with options to extend up to three years.
According to Bibby, Total made the choice to use the vessel due to, among other reasons, the certainty of using a walk to work system.
Total will use Bibby WaveMaster 1 to replace jack ups and helicopters and provide walk to work access to gas platforms in the southern North Sea.
The vessel will provide accommodation for up to 90 people including crew.
