Aker BP has been granted permission to drill in a prospect named Hyrokkin, which lies north of Alvheim in the North Sea.
The two wells will be drilled with jack-up Maersk Interceptor. They are located in water depth of more than 100 metres.
Aker BP is the operator of the wells with 60% interest.
Drilling is expected in Q3.
Hyrokkin was defined by an encouraging geophysical anomaly, with a high probability of success.
