UK based operator Hurricane Energy has announced that the vessel destined for it’s West of Shetland development has arrived in Dubai.
The floating production and storage offloading vessel (FPSO) Aoka Mizu is now at the Drydocks World Dubai Shipyard.
The vessel is set to be used for the firm’s flagship Lancaster field.
Drydocks World is also undertaking the fabrication of the buoy, where first steel has already been cut at its Dubai facility.
London-listed Hurricane said last month that it has now received development and production consent for the early production system, which is expected to produce 17,000 barrels of oil per day over an initial six year period.
First oil is slated for the first half of 2019.
The Aoka Mizu is the seventh Bluewater designed, built, owned and operated Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) installation.
It has been deployed at the Ettrick and Blackbird fields for Nexen Petroleum UK since August 2009.
