French supermajor Total has been warned over crane arrangements during the conversion of the Martin Linge floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO).
The MT Hanne Knutsen crude oil tanker is currently being converted to serve the project.
The Norwegian oil watchdog carried out an audit back in August and found one “non-conformity” linked to the arrangement of and access to an offshore crane.
In addition, four improvement points were identified in connection with non-conformity handling, actions following working environment activities, exposure to working environment factors and hydrocarbon exposure.
Total E&P Norge AS has been given a deadline of October 30 to report on how the non-conformity and improvement points will be addressed.
Martin Linge is an oil and gas field near the border to the UK sector in the North Sea, 42 kilometres west of the Oseberg field.
The water depth in the area is about 115 metres.
The development concept is a fully integrated fixed production platform with a steel jacket, and a floating, storage and offloading unit (FSO) for oil storage.
