Fracking protestors are due in court today, according to environmentalist group Greenpeace.
The accused took part in a “peaceful protest” at the Preston New Road site in Lancashire back in May.
The accused, including a retired midwife, an ex-soldier, a costume designer and seven others, claim their protest was “reasonable”.
They claim that the democratic processes was being ignored and the worries of local people were not being taken seriously so they decided to take part in the protest.
The protestors linked their arms inside boxes painted yellow, the shared colour of resistance to fracking, which were also adorned with Lancashire roses.
All ten were charged with obstruction of a highway and are due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court.
