Glasgow-based CDC Scotland is set to see the Chameleon multi-activity offshore unit reach commercialisation.
The design has accounted for offshore oil and gas and renewable work while it can also complete some decommissioning work.
The vessel design is based in a jack-up design and includes 2 x 1200 mT cranes.
CDC Scotland said: “The cantilever parking provides a clear deck area of 2500 m2 when not using the Drilling/P&A package – meaning the deck space is available for storing those same topsides and jackets. You only have to return to port when the deck is full.
“The topsides and jackets can be stored and offloaded at the quayside without the need for additional support vessels or heavy lifting equipment. How’s that for a cost-effective operational efficiency?”
