Scottish-based renewables company, Natural Power, has appointed Nancy McLean as head of offshore business.
McLean will be responsible for all offshore business and exploring opportunities within the UK and in international waters.
As a former principal environmental consultant with Natural Power’s Planning and Environment department, McLean has made offshore renewables her specialism over the last eight years.
McLean, who will report directly to Natural Power’s commercial director, Pieter D’haen, has an extensive back catalogue of renewables projects within her portfolio, namely the Codling Bank Wind Farm development, Inch Cape and Moray Offshore Renewables.
Nancy McLean said: “Natural Power provides a comprehensive range of services to clients across the full lifecycle of offshore projects, and I am really looking forward to spearheading the co-ordination of all our services and delivery partners to guarantee added value to our customers globally.
“Offshore is entering a new phase now – the recent CfD rounds have shown that offshore wind is cost competitive in Europe. As these projects are built out and the assets come out of warranty across the European market, there will be significant opportunities to develop an asset management service. These opportunities are already developing for offshore sites within a European context, and Natural Power will continue to build upon its competency and capability to operate in this space.”
Pieter D’haen, commercial director at Natural Power, added: “Nancy has been with Natural Power for 15 years and has an excellent working knowledge of the team’s strengths and potential, coupled with a real depth of experience in the offshore sector.
“We are delighted that she has accepted the Head of Offshore position and look forward to supporting her in the further development of our offshore business and working together with our partners to develop additional competitive services for this market.”
