A three day inquest into the death of a North Sea worker offshore is expected to be held this week.
Tyron Leigh Jones, from Lowestoft, died after an incident on the Perenco-operated Indefatigable 23A (Inde 23A) platform.
The 43-year-old was taken to Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital on December 5, 2016 after being fatally injured.
A statement from his family as the time read: “We’re all devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Tyron. He was an exceptional fiancé, brother, son and uncle. We simply can’t imagine our lives without him.
“He would’ve done anything for anyone at any time. He was very generous. He had so many friends and was loved by so many people.”
Norfolk Constabulary launched a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive in the wake of the incident.
The inquest will be held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court in Norwich.
The platform is located 70 miles off the coast of Norfolk in the Southern North Sea.
Perenco has bases in London, Paris and Norwich and a workshop and warehouse in Great Yarmouth. It also operates the industrial processing plant at Bacton.
