As global energy companies look at how to use renewable energy sources there is no doubt that more appointments, like that of group managing director Tony Frencham, will become more commonplace.
Moving from Advisian, a consulting division of WorleyParsons, to head up the new energy division last year, Frencham has brought experience of vital renewable resources projects such solar power and wind.
Mr Frenchman said: “Without doubt, to be successful going forward it will be necessary for most energy-intensive companies, whether producers or users, to have a C-suite person responsible for their strategy relative to the global energy transition.”
Frenchman will be responsible at WorleyParsons for the strategy and implementation of new energy and will provide leadership on the global energy transition to reduce carbon footprints.
The new director has over 30 years of experience served in a number of leadership roles across the globe, including 28 years of working with the American specialty chemical company, Dow Chemical.
When asked about his future predictions concerning the energy industry, he said: “Undeniably we are now in the midst of a global energy transition that will impact every country and every industry in some way.
“The alignment of many factors has set us on a path of lowering carbon intensity and increasing electrification.”
WorleyParsons, a global company, have their headquarters in Sydney Australia and provide worldwide engineering services to the energy industry.
