Aker BP has been given consent to drill an exploration well in the Norwegian Sea.
The “Kvitungen Tumler” prospect is part of license 212, about three miles west of the Skarv floating production and storage vessel which is around 130 miles from the coast of Sandnessjøen.
Drilling is set to begin this month, lasting at least 37 days.
It will be carried out by the Odfjell Drilling-operated Deepsea Stavanger facility.
