Aberdeen-based John Crane Asset Management has won a major US contract which will see the firm provide a Texas oil refinery with condition-based maintenance (CMS).
The contract, worth at least £1million, will see the company’s personnel travel to the refinery from its operational offices in Aberdeen and Pasadena, Texas.
John Crane staff will inspect the vibration and lubrication of equipment, asses conditions and data to make recommendations on how to better operate the asset to free up refinery staff for other tasks.
John Morrison, managing director of John Crane Asset Management Solutions, said: “This is a significant win for the company, expanding our business in the United States. Our staff will be working closely with the plant’s personnel to build up knowledge and processes before moving on, thereby leaving a legacy where the plant can leverage best practice and continue to deliver business value.”
John Crane staff will also train up the refinery workers in leadership, data collection, project liaison, and maintenance strategies.
The Aberdeen firm has previously supplied their services to Maersk Oil in relation to one of their UK North Sea assets.
