Ocean Installer has been awarded a decommissioning contract off the coast of Mauritania.
The Norwegian subsea firm will assist BW Offshore in decommissioning the Berge Helene floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
It lies in the Chinguetti field, around 50 miles west of the African country and is operated by BW Offshore.
The contract is being executed on a fast track and is set to begin in March/April this year.
It will see Ocean Installer provide services for flexible risers, umbilical and mooring lines from the FPSO.
Ocean Installer chief executive officer Steinar Riise said: ““We are continuing to build experience operating in West Africa, after having successfully completed jobs in the Republic of Congo, in Nigeria and in Equatorial Guinea.
“This will be Ocean Installer’s first job in Mauritania, and we are very pleased that BW Offshore has chosen us.”
