Aberdeen-based Well-Sense has launched a new business in Houston to meet growing demand for its technology in the US.
Tad Bostick will head up Well-Sense Inc. to oversee delivery of its FiberLine Intervention (FLI) system in the region.
The down-hole specialists says FLI uses a bare fiber optic line in order to profile a well’s temperature, pressure and acoustic data over time.
Mr Bostick has worked in the industry for over 35 years, holding various positions in field engineering, technical support and product management.
Craig Feherty, Well-Sense CEO, said: “We’re growing at a significant rate and the potential opportunities for our technology in the US are huge. We must make sure we have a team equipped to handle this growth, so Tad is a key appointment for us.
“As commercial director, he will be responsible for driving our business forward in the US, shaping innovation, and will be instrumental in initiating a recruitment drive for the subsidiary in the near future.”
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Bostick said: “I’m extremely pleased to join Well-Sense. FLI is highly innovative; it offers an entirely new approach to well intervention and combines several innovative concepts in a single package.
“The dynamic team has propelled its state-of-the-art technology into the European market and I am very much looking forward to replicating this throughout the US, as we continue to achieve fantastic results with FLI.”
