Workers have been evacuated from a North Sea platform following an issue with its water supply.
24 non-essential personnel have been taken off the Beatrice Alpha, which lies around 51 miles north east of Inverness.
Wood, which operates the rig on behalf of Repsol Sinopec, confirmed that the down-manning comes as a result of an “issue with water supply”, which is understood to be brought on by freezing temperatures.
22 workers remain on board, and the company says measures are in place to ensure they have an ample water supply.
The company says that involves the partial supply still on board, and additional resources such as bottled water.
A spokeswoman for Wood said: “Following an issue with water supply on the Beatrice Alpha platform, we have downmanned 24 non-essential personnel.
“An essential crew of 22 remain and measures are in place to ensure they have an ample water supply.
“The safety and wellbeing of our teams offshore is our priority and we are currently working proactively to address the issue.”
It comes after US oil major Chevron shut down production on its Alba Northern platform earlier due to a power outage.
BP’s ETAP platform has also been partially down-manned.
