The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has given consent to Aker BP to perform manned underwater operations in the North Sea later this year.
The application submitted by Aker BP relates to the Alvheim, Ula and Valhall fields.
The underwater operations will be carried out by Subsea 7, under contract with Aker BP.
The Alvhein field consists of three discoveries: Boa, East Kameleon and Kneler, developed ‘using individual subsea facilities tied back to the Alvheim FPSO’.
The Ula oil field consists of three steel production, drilling and accommodation structures while the Valhall oil field has a wellhead facility installed with slots for 19 additional wells.
Operations will be carried out by the diving vessels DSV Seven Falcon, DSV Seven Atlantic and LDC Seven Spray.
Work is due to begin in Q3 or Q4 of 2018, where activities will last around 19 days.
