Norway’s AGR Petroleum has announced a contract with Shell for software and well engineering services.
AGR said its combined software application iQx, coupled with their new Digital Drilling software (D2), will enable Shell to reduce the planning stages of new projects by several weeks, share knowledge and cut costs.
Digital drilling allows a drilling team to communicate via a web interface, enabling the sharing of well data, metadata and manage risk between workers.
The initial contract value is £73,000 with an extension option of almost £250,000.
Rafael Rosales, Business Development for AGR, said: “We are very pleased to have signed a Digital Drilling (D2) software and well engineering contract between AGR Petroleum Services AS and A/S Norske Shell.
“We’re proud of the software applications we have produced and are confident that Shell will see improvements in efficiency, as well as reductions in time, cost and risk, as they use them.”
