The first week of the Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC) TechX Pioneers accelerator programme has had a real “buzz” about it, according to organisers.
Beginning with 350 founders, 125 companies and over 24 different countries, it’s now been whittled down to the top 10 TechX Pioneers.
David Millar, TechX director for the Oil & Gas Technology Centre, said:“We’re almost at the end of week two, in what has been a packed start to the programme. The enthusiasm and willingness to learn from the Pioneers is infectious and there is a real buzz about the Centre. We’ve had the likes of BP North Sea, BP Ventures, KPMG, OGIC, Scottish Enterprise, the Oil and Gas Authority, Oil & Gas UK, Elevator and Bob Keiller share their experience, knowledge and insights with our Pioneers, which will be invaluable in helping shape their businesses and technologies.
“We now move into mentor matching, which is a critical part of the programme. We have more than 60 successful business leaders and entrepreneurs working with the Pioneers to share their expertise, time and contacts, without expectation of reward or financial compensation. Having the right mentor can significantly increase a start-ups chance of success, it’s a key success factor in the world’s best accelerator programmes and that’s why it’s such an important part of our TechX Pioneer accelerator programme.”
