North Sea oil firm Neptune Energy has appointed a new head of exploration.
Gro Gunleiksrud Haatvedt, the current senior vice president for exploration at Aker BP, will take up the position as head of exploration in London.
She will start at Neptune in October having also held senior positions at Statoil and Norsk Hydro.
CEO Jim House said: “Gro is highly regarded across the oil and gas industry and has a proven track record of leading exploration teams through licence capture and material discoveries in Norway, North Africa and the Middle East.
“She is experienced in developing and implementing exploration strategy at a global level, as well as optimising existing asset areas. I am confident that the appointment of Gro to the Neptune team speaks clearly to our strategy and intention to grow and become a leading international independent E&P Company.
“I welcome Gro to the Neptune organisation and I personally look forward to working with her in delivering the next exciting phase of Neptune’s vision.”
Aker BP announced the news online, with Evy Glorstad-Clark being appointed their new SVP, starting from August 1.
Ms Glorstad-Clark has been with Aker BP since 2011 and is currently the Asset Development manager for the NOAKA (North of Alvheim and Askja-Krafla) area in the Norwegian North Sea.
Earlier this year Neptune increased its footprint in the North Sea region with a near £4billion acquisition of French energy giant Engie’s exploration and production business.
The firm, which was set up in 2015, employs 1,800 people, including staff in Aberdeen.
Among its operated assets are the Cygnus field, the UK’s largest producing gas field, and Gjoa in Norway which exports gas to the St Fergus terminal.
As well as the North Sea, Neptune is active in areas including North Africa and Asia Pacific.
