Beatrice Offshore Windfarm has agreed a deal with Manchester firm Granada Material Handling for 84 installed crane units.
The davit cranes, called Pythons, will see 84 attached to the wind turbine foundations, alongside two on the offshore transportation platforms.
Granada confirmed that they would be supplying engineers to the development for nine months or until the completion of the windfarm.
Mark Sidwell, director of Granada Material Handling Ltd, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded another prestigious UK wind farm Commissioning project. Securing this contract has been a real team effort by the Granada Renewable product and service division. The BOWL contract is not only great news for Granada but also for our UK based supply chain.
Granada has already worked on the commissioning phase of the EA1, Hornsea Project One and Galloper wind projects.
The 84 turbine £2.6bn Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project is being built by owners SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) (35%) and SDIC (25%) after BOWL reached Financial Close on 23 May 2016.
The project will be one of the largest private investments ever made in Scottish infrastructure.
