Management jobs at Aker Solutions are understood to be at risk as a result of a UK-wide “restructuring”.
The energy services firm has announced it will integrate its UK organisation in order to “better serve” its UK North Sea customers.
It is not clear exactly how many roles will be affected but it is understood up to 40 UK management jobs could be cut as a result.
Changes to support teams are also expected to be made.
A spokesman for Aker Solutions said: “Aker Solutions this week announced an initiative to integrate its UK organization, enabling it to better serve UKCS customers with unique solutions across the life of an energy asset.
“Due to this restructure there are some changes to the departmental management and support teams in the UK.”
Aker Solutions employs around 2,500 people across Aberdeen, Reading and London although it has not confirmed where the job cuts will be made.
The news comes after Aker Solutions completed an £8million upgrade to a facility in Dyce in April to target the growing subsea UK market.
