Aker Solutions and Kvaerner will carry out additional hook-up and commissioning work on Equinor’s Johan Sverdrup field offshore Norway.
They got the job after Equinor exercised an option included in a contract awarded earlier this year.
The £85 million contract was for connecting the riser platform’s seven modules.
Aker Solutions and subcontractor Kvaerner will now also hook up and commission the utility and living quarters platform.
And they will carry out preparatory work for the phase two modifications of the riser platform.
For Kvaerner, the contract has an estimated value of about £9.4m.
The preparation work starts this fall and will involve about 40-50 people from Aker Solutions, Kvaerner and Equinor, rising to 300-400 people working in rotation offshore on the project.
Offshore work for the utility and living quarter platform is scheduled to begin in the second quarter 2019.
