The U.S. rig count increased by seven over the last week, while Texas lost three rigs.
The drilling rig count rose to 1,055, with the majority of the additions coming in Louisiana and Pennsylvania, which each added three, and Colorado and Oklahoma, which added two drilling rigs.
Texas lost three drilling rigs, dropping its total to 525.
West Texas’ Permian Basin lost one rig, dropping its total to 483, while the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas stayed steady at 78 rigs.
