OIL and gas consultancy Maxoil Solutions said yesterday it was on course to boost turnover by nearly 70% to £5million this year as it grows its international operations.
The firm, which has its headquarters in the Granite City, plans to open offices near Reading, in England, plus Perth, in Western Australia, this year and then Stavanger, in Norway, during 2012.
It is also looking to expand its Houston base, launched in 2005.
Maxoil, which offers process engineering and production chemistry consultancy services, has just completed work nearly doubling the size of its Aberdeen offices at the Enterprise Business Centre in Poynernook Road, near the harbour.
It has also increased staff numbers in the Granite City in recent months – from 15 to 21 – and is looking to recruit more, including process engineers and production chemistry consultants.
The firm, which was founded in 2004, said the expansion came on the back of a string of new contracts internationally.
One of the deals was worth about £350,000 for offshore decommissioning production chemistry support in the UK North Sea.
Co-founder and director Mel Dow said annual turnover in 2011 was likely to be £2million up on the £3million seen last year.
He added: “The key drivers for Maxoil’s forecasted growth is a focused effort on internationalisation and building upon our satellite offices in key operating areas, in addition to expanding our technical hub office in Aberdeen.
“Our international business development efforts over the last few years have forged key strategic client alliances, which has recently resulted in sizeable contract wins.
“These latest developments ensure we are in an extremely strong position, as we look to capitalise on the many fresh opportunities which are being presented to the company, both in the UK and overseas.
Maxoil which also has an office in Bergen, Norway, employs 32 people in total.
