An Aberdeen company is hoping the mysteries of Doric and a cheery “fit like” will help attract visitors to its stand.
MandOS, a software and consultancy company, is revealing the Doric translation of some of the more common IT and business terminologies to give an insight into the north-east culture and also illustrate the flexibility of its own business process product.
Peter Fraser, director of MandOS, is author of a tongue-in-cheek Doric guide to business and also a Doric version of the Lord’s Prayer.
He said: “I thought Offshore Europe was the ideal opportunity to have a bit of fun while doing serious business at the same time.
“I am passionate about Doric and look forward to educating visitors in the hope they might take a few phrases around the globe.
“The serious purpose is to show how the company’s software can be customised to suit businesses in any part of the world. The software helps organisations to run more efficiently and safely and thus reduce costs by using a clear presentation format and terminology all staff can understand.”
