ABERDEEN-BASED industrial service provider BIS Salamis said yesterday it had invested more than £1million in its specialist offshore sand-management tool portfolio.
This expansion of its product range includes the addition of a vacuum recovery unit, which uses high-velocity air technology to remove unwanted solid materials formed during the oil-production process.
Jack Davidson, BIS Salamis environmental manager, said the investment in new technologies had come at an important time for the company and the industry.
He said: “The management of solid materials offshore is a key issue within the industry as fields mature and equipment ages. We felt that now was the ideal time to expand our product and service range to ensure we are able to meet all aspects of our clients’ varied requirements.”
