A total of 89 oil and gas platforms have been evacuated in the Gulf of Mexico due to Hurricane Michael.
The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSSE) reported that personnel have been evacuated from the installations, based on reports from 30 companies.
An estimated 42% of production from the Gulf has been shut-in, which is standard procedure in the event of hurricanes.
BSSE said facilities will be inspected one the hurricane has passed.
Staff have also been evacuated from three rigs.
